My Journey
I (she/her/hers) have been on a journey towards internal peace for most of my life. That search for self and internal harmony has taken me to various corners of the world, as well as to the most painful parts hidden deep within myself. My journey has not been linear, and it consists of many milestones - learning the importance of recognizing my roots if I wanted to ever fully know myself, recognizing the impact that our relationships have on our wellbeing, and how fragile our own self narratives can be. Slowly and intentionally, I learned what it really means to be in a loving and kind relationship with myself, to invest in the longest relationship I will ever have in my life.
But this journey has not been easy. Not only was I dealing with my own internal struggles, I was also dealing with the barriers that all Asian Americans face when seeking mental health support. Whether it’s because of the stigma of mental health in our communities, or because the field of mental health can fail in honoring and highlighting our Asian American experiences, it can be harder for us to engage in a healing journey for ourselves. These wins and losses of my journey all led me to create Full Well Therapy. Now, I feel incredibly grateful to be able to provide a safe space for us to be who we are, be seen for our experiences, and connect with our own selves.
Who Am I?
I’m a person with many different identities: Korean, neurodivergent, the eldest of immigrant parents, a woman, cisgender, connected with multiple generations, traveller, and artist. I am thankful for all my identities, and am still on my own journey of living harmoniously with all these parts of me.
I live in a multigenerational household when I’m not traveling to different beautiful wonders of the world (except for a few photos, all photos on the website were taken by me during my various travels!). I also like to spend time outside - I try to surf when I can, witness the underwater world via diving, and recharge in the serenity of nature through backpacking adventures. My ADHD also leads to many interests - I love crafting, building, and creating things with my hands, and I am usually in the middle of multiple projects at once. I am also passionate about human rights, environmental protection, and social causes, and volunteer my time and energy to advocate for more equity in the world.
